Great work on this! I wish the sword and shield modes had more usefulness- unfortunately the gun is simply way more powerful; with only a couple of upgrades, you can pretty much just walk forward and not worry. Also, the bombs are very very powerful - I wonder if enemies killed by bombs should not be able to drop bombs as this made it a perfectly viable strategy to just bomb constantly and pick up new ones as enemies are killed by it.
Nevertheless, a fun sidescroller!
This is a fun game, and the presentation is really nice! I agree with other commenters that it is kind of like Mystery Dungeon which is great. I think a little more personality in the enemy behavior would make the combat more engaging, but I do really like the addition of the burst attack partway through.
Nice work!
This is a cute game and a really unique theme interpretation. The weapons all feel slightly different and the sound design is great! I would love an animation for when the player gets hit, as my hitbox was slightly hard to read. And I would love too if we had a score so there was really something to chase after for an arcade style!
nice work!
This game is exceptionally charming, and I really like the use of statistical mode to capture such a unique and creative theme. My only complaint is that it's hard to remember which moai I've taken pictures of- a map that filled in with the ones you've already captured would be amazing.
Still though, this is a really great job, and props to you for taking on such an ambitious project!
Really great work getting all this content into this neat little package. The duck may be the biggest cheater in the world, but I still really enjoyed beating him. I love how quickly the early levels go once you start to progress.
As a side note, I'm really impressed with all the fitting words you came up with for the ability levels; we used a similar naming for our abilities but we only had 4 and still had trouble!
Nice work :)
Thanks for the feedback! Our main idea right now for adding a bit of a grace period is just to guarantee the first few notes are correct, so it'll be a bit more forgiving. Still want to do some more in-depth difficulty balancing, but we think it'll really help at least at the very beginning. With the notes being randomly generated, there's always a chance that the level skews difficulty, so we really want to improve this part of it.
Thanks for playing!
